Arguably one of the cutest events at the rodeo alongside the ram scramble!  The audience’s children are called down to the arena to line up behind a gate.  Once the announcer says “go” the kids run into the arena!  A calf with a small ribbon tied to its tail is waiting in anticipation for the kid stampede.  The children will then run around the arena attempting to capture the ribbon from the calf.  Sometimes it takes seconds, other times lengthy minutes, but it’s always an audience favorite event!
