Calf Scramble and Ram Scramble
One of the most unforgettable moments of the night is when the kids get their turn in the arena!
Steamboat’s crowd-favorite Calf Scramble and Ram Scramble are free, easy to join, and often become the memory kids talk about long after vacation is over.
No registration needed, just head over when it’s time. The announcer will give the crowd a heads-up before the scrambles begin so kids know when to start lining up. You’ll also find easy arena entry directions in the daily insert inside the free rodeo program.
Ram Scramble
for kids ages 5 and under
Perfect for the little wranglers, the Ram Scramble gives younger kids their own rodeo moment using gentle sheep. Kids race into the arena to grab the ribbon, and the crowd absolutely loves it. If needed, you can go with to hold their hand, but they have to grab the ribbon!
The winner takes home a $15 F.M. Light & Sons gift card and a belt buckle.
Calf Scramble
for kids ages 6-12
This Steamboat crowd favorite turns the arena over to the kids as they race after a calf to be the first to grab the ribbon from its tail. It’s fast, funny, and one of the most memorable moments of the night for both kids and parents. Don’t let your kids miss out, listen for the announcer’s instructions!
The winner takes home a Wrangler kids’ jeans gift card and a belt buckle.
